Well what a day, we were filmed for "inside out" a BBC documentary to be screen in the Autumn. Des the East mids weather man and formally Eastenders came down for the day!

We were filmed making some products, then it was off to the local micro brewery were Sara from Brewsters met us for our first samples of our chilli beer. The beer is a dark real ale, and when we put it through a hand pull it looked stunning and tasted even better, not too hot, just a tingle in the back of the throat. If you would like to stock this new beer please get in touch, we hope to sample this at certain shows throughout 2010.

Finally we headed off to Bindi in Grantham for possibly the worlds hottest curry, Mohammed of Bindi had to turn over 100 people away, the lucky 15 who turned up were well up for a challenge.

Amazingly 3 people ate the curry although they were starter portions, one poor soul was very very sick in the toilets and an ambulance was called, but  he staggered out to a packed restaurant who all clapped. As for the other two.....no idea i just hope there still alive to tell the tale.

The curry has been called "The Widower" and is available from Bindi Grantham.

You might have heard that we have grown a chilli measuring at 1067286 scoville units, called the Infinity chilli, seeds and sauces will be available in the summer.

We are very excited as this is a new species of chilli born and bred here in the UK and with a good English summer we hope to get even hotter results.

Update 29/03/10

We will be on tv later in the year!! A programme called "inside and out" will see Fire foods launch two new products one being a chilli beer and the other a hot chilli paste.

The film crew will be coming to the brewery and trying the beer. Also we have booked a local Indian restaurant  where we will be making the worlds hottest curry and filming people trying to eat it. The film crew will join us at a show to see us launch the new products. The programme will be aired in the Autumn initially in the east midlands area, but available for all on BBC i player. First lot of filming will be mid April. More news coming soon

New range of bottles and jars:

We have just launched our new range of bottles and jars for the 2010 season, we have gone all funky!! Shiny black jar with a bright red lid, topped off with a bright yellow label, if you come along to one of our shows you won't miss us that's for sure!

You can now buy some of our products at three local Asda stores in Lincolnshire: Grantham, Boston and Lincoln stores. Also co-op food stores in Lincolnshire will be stocking three of our products.

Amateur Scoville awards 2010

                                               

This years Amateur Scovile awards will take place at the Old Courthouse pub in Cove, Farnborough, Hampshire on October 16th at 20:00. The postcode for the event is GU14 0EU.
The aim of the event is for everybody to make a sauce/chutney or anything chilli that will be judged on the day, there will be a 1st prize for the best sauce and a 1st prize everything else (chutneys, snacks etc) The two winners will then go head to head for the chance of winning a automatic watering system from www.greenhousesensation.co.uk, also fire foods goodies and of course the fabulous trophy.
