Medicinal properties of black pepper

Its principal phytochemical, piperine, inhibits some of the pro-inflammatory cytokines that are produced by tumor cells. Black pepper contains several powerful antioxidants and is thus one of the most important spices for preventing and curtailing oxidative stress.
